The Old Market Charitable Trust:

In the eight years since the STOMP team took over TOM, they have invested over £1m of their own resources into the building and operations, one of the largest acts of philanthropic giving in the city’s cultural history. The artist’s backing has allowed TOM a unique independence and a strong creative ethos. Our backing from commercial artists has given us the confidence and vision to think big, to take risks and to be strategic.

However, this resource is not infinite, so we are changing the way we work. Over the last 12 months, we have been through a period of development that has relaunched the venue as an independent charitable trust. This new structure will allow the venue to better articulate its value to the city, build solid foundations from which to grow, and diversify our funding portfolio. That’s where this new role comes in.

We are looking for a brilliant Development Manager to join our Senior Management team. You’ll have bags of experience securing funding in the arts, come fresh with new ideas and, most importantly, a passion for what we do. With a newly formed board of trustees and an ambitious business plan about to launch, we are excited to create this new post so we can secure our future and realise our ambitions.

The Old Market is committed to being an Equal Opportunities Employer and actively encourages applications from individuals with a variety of backgrounds, experience and perspectives.

Deadline for applications: Noon, Tuesday 28 May 2019
Interviews: Wed 05 June 2019

Casual Team:

Most events at The Old Market are run by our team of casual staff, who work on a shift basis. At busy times in the year, we may expand our team of casual staff, both stewarding front-of-house and TOM’s Bar staff.

If you would like to be considered for either of these positions, please email either [for Front of House stewarding] and/or [for Bar work]. Please include your CV, and you may also want to write a brief note about why you are interested in applying.

We keep all applications on file until we need to take on any extra casual staff, so please be aware that you might not hear back immediately.
