Brighton Fringe, Brighton Festival, The Great Escape and Artists Open Houses
Festivals 2017 at The Old Market
We love Festival season here at TOM, and as usual, we’re serving up our own lovingly-crafted BRIGHTON FRINGE programme, plus more from BRIGHTON FESTIVAL, THE GREAT ESCAPE and ARTISTS OPEN HOUSES.
Notions of masculinity are challenged with witty performance MACHO MACHO, whilst AY | NA and SLAP AND TICKLE champion strong women. Speaking of which, soul powerhouse AVERY*SUNSHINE will be delivering her signature mix of soul, gospel, jazz and R&B, supported by neo soul Brighton newcomers YAKUL.
MELANCHOLY and JACK ROOKE: GOOD GRIEF deftly tackle the subject of mourning, whilst FOCUS GROUP* explores the loneliness and absurdity of modern life. And we continue looking inward with WILDER STORIES, three specially curated, colour-themed nights of storytelling and music, presented by local singer-activist-poet Chris T-T.
If you want to get political, comedy shows JONNY & THE BAPTISTS: EAT THE POOR and ED ACZEL’S FOREIGN POLICY will be right up your street. And there’s escapist silliness from TRYGVE WAKENSHAW with NAUTILUS, plus three genre film send ups from SLEEPING TREES, returning to TOM following hit runs last year.
Want it all? We don’t blame you. The good news is, if you join our TOM’S FRIENDS scheme, you’ll get 15% off TOM’s shows. Click here to find out more.
