  • The Old Market Upper Market Street Hove BN3 1AS (map)

Brighton Theatre Group Youth present Everybody’s Talking About Jamie: Teen Edition.

Jamie New is a 16-year-old who doesn't quite fit in within Sheffield’s society. Instead of pursuing a traditional career, he’s told he’ll make nothing more than a forklift truck driver, he dreams of becoming a glittering drag queen. With an uncertain future, but supported by the love of his mother, his 'Aunt' Ray and his amazing friends, Jamie knows he’ll be sensational in life. Overcoming discrimination, bullying and heartache Jamie begins a journey of self-acceptance, stepping out of the darkness and into the spotlight that he’s always craved to be simply "fabulous darling!"

This Teen Edition musical, with book and lyrics by Tom MacRae, Music by Dan Gillespie Sells and based on an idea by Jonathan Butterell, is a musical of hope, self-acceptance and inclusivity.
