This half-term, join Robin Hood and his band of merry men (and women) for an action-packed, swashbuckling adventure for children aged 7+ and their families
Bringing the enduring legend of Robin Hood bang up to date, New Mutiny Theatre Company returns to The Old Market to present a vibrant new adaptation of a much-loved story - full of bold outlaws, evil sheriffs, and enough rabbit stew to drown a badger. Full of riotous comedy, stunning original music (think Mumford & Sons meets Arctic Monkeys), sword fights and silliness, Robin Hood is an action-packed show that both children and adults will love!
In a world divided by wealth and power, the wild freedom of Robin and his forest-dwelling friends is set against the authoritarian regime of the Sheriff’s castle, where a young Maid Marian is caught between her desire for freedom and self-determination and her duty to her overbearing uncle.
New Mutiny's debut production Romeo & Juliet in 2015 was a huge hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and here at The Old Market. Here's what the critics said:
'Storytelling at its finest'
★★★★★ The Times
'Superb... every bit as entertaining for adults as it is for kids'
★★★★★ The List
'Everything about this production is a delight'
★★★★★ The Sunday Times
'Sparkling, dynamic and wonderfully performed'
★★★★ Edinburgh Spotlight
We're delighted to welcome this dynamic young ensemble back to The Old Market this half-term with the world premiere of their latest show - a timeless story of family, friendship, duty and what it really means to be a hero.
