The Plough is a long-form ambient film and live music work by Julian Deane / Woodchester Piano Company.
Created during a period of recovery and creative reset, the piece follows a drifting journey through Sussex landscapes, ancient landmarks, roadside moments and open skies — part documentary, part meditation, part moving sketchbook.
Performed live to self-shot film, the soundtrack unfolds slowly across piano, guitar, synths and immersive ambient textures, allowing the room itself to become part of the experience. Audiences are invited to sit, lie down, wander, reflect or simply spend time inside the work.
Somewhere between concert, cinema and installation, The Plough explores slowness, landscape and attention — offering temporary pause from the pace and noise of everyday life.
Sam Reid
Support comes from Sam Reid, who will be performing a reading from his latest novel, The Pin Jar.
Sam Reid is a writer from Sussex whose work draws on the downland landscape of the region and the communities within it. He is the founder of and contributing editor to literary biannual magazine Field and co-presenter of the Field Ramble podcast along with Lara Haworth. His novel The Pin Jar was published in 2025 by Rough Trade Books and received the following praise.
