Nearly 200 years ago, architect Charles Busby and landowner Thomas Scutt agreed to build a new town. The Memorandum of Agreement they subsequently signed on 11 November 1824 would define Brunswick Town much as we see it today.
Exactly 200 years later, The Regency Town House join us at TOM to host a celebration of this important local event.
TOM’s Bar will be open to welcome those with an interest in the City’s history to gather and chat. Then Nick Tyson, the Curator at The Regency Town House, will deliver a presentation about the Memorandum of Agreement and explain how what was built differs from what was planned.
There will be a short Q&A session after the presentation, and then the evening rounds off with a salute to Busby and Scutt.
