TERMS & CONDITIONS

BOX OFFICE TERMS & CONDITIONS

All ticket purchases through The Old Market Charitable Trust’s (TOMCT) Box Office are sold subject to agreement to the following terms and conditions. Feel free to contact us regarding any specific queries.

Tickets May Be Purchased:
Online:
www.theoldmarket.com
Phone:
01273 201 801, Mon-Fri from 10:00-16:00 (excludes public holidays)
In person: 12:00-15:00 Mon-Fri (excludes public holidays). All tickets are e-tickets now, so we regret we are not able to print physical tickets.

Payment Methods and Fees
We accept Visa and Mastercard, but not American Express. A venue levy of £2 is added to each ticket sold and is included in the published ticket price. The levy allows us to meet running costs, make improvements to our venue and develop the service that we offer. Some events are exempt from the venue levy.

Age Recommendations
For our theatre, dance and family events, age recommendations are considered as guidance, and other audiences are welcome to attend unless otherwise stated. For our comedy, film, music and club events, age restrictions are strict and will be enforced on the night of the show. If we have any other restrictions, we will clearly advertise them. All under 16s must be accompanied at all times during your visit.

Under 16s and Family Tickets
Ticket prices for under 16s and families will be advertised for each performance. Unless otherwise specified, tickets are not required for ‘Babes in Arms’ (those aged 18 months and younger), though TOMCT reserves the right to require tickets to be purchased, at the management’s discretion.

Refunds and Exchanges
Once purchased, we regret that tickets sold through our Box Office may not be refunded or exchanged for an alternative event. Tickets may be exchanged for a different performance of the same event as long as the request is made at least 2 working days in advance (subject to availability). For performance date exchanges, there is an administration fee of £2 per ticket (up to a maximum of 10 tickets). You can resell unwanted tickets through Twickets- visit our bespoke Twickets page by clicking here.

Collecting Tickets
Tickets will be emailed to you ahead of the event in form of a booking confirmation with downloadable tickets attached. If you have a smartphone, please show your tickets on that device rather than printing them out. You will be helping us in our mission to go paperless. Please note, we do not send tickets in the post.

Transferring Tickets
Tickets may be transferred for collection by someone other than the purchaser. To transfer an order, simply forward the booking confirmation and downloadable tickets to that person. Box Office will require the bearer to show this confirmation email, and also, for security reasons, to quote the postcode of your registered account. For some events, tickets can only be collected by the named cardholder (to prevent touting), please check the individual event page for more information.

Re-selling Tickets
Our official resale channel is Twickets, an ethical fan-to-fan resale marketplace, enabling users to sell spare tickets at the price paid (or less), thus protecting our audiences from being ripped off by profiteering resale sites that encourage ticket touting. If you're after tickets for a sold-out event at a fair price, or if you can no longer make an event / have a spare ticket going for something coming up, visit our bespoke Twickets page by clicking here. TOMCT does not take responsibility for any transactions made via the Twickets platform. TOMCT takes a strong stance against ticket touting, and any customers caught doing so with tickets purchased via our Box Office system will have their booking cancelled immediately and no refunds will be given.

Advance Ticket Prices
Some performances are cheaper when booked in advance. Any unsold tickets will be available to purchase on the door, though please note these tickets may cost more for some events. We will always publish ticket prices in good faith, but any increases to ‘On The Door’ purchase prices are at the discretion of the event promoter/organiser.

Concession Rates
Where possible, we offer concession rates for our shows. Some events do not have concession prices, and concessions can vary between events, check the individual event page or contact us if you’re uncertain. Please specify eligibility at the time of booking. Unless otherwise specified, concession ticket rates apply to the following groups:

  • Disabled

  • Student (full-time, with valid photo ID)

  • Child (aged under 16- must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ at all times)

  • Senior (65+)

  • On a form of Income-Related Benefits (JSA, Universal Credit etc.)

‘Babes in Arms’ can attend performances for free. This applies to children aged 18 months and younger.

Accessibility & Companion Tickets
We offer free tickets for Companions via our Access Register. For more info and to join, visit our Access section by clicking here.

Groups and Schools Visits
Any available group rates will be advertised in show listings. We can also offer additional workshops and add-ons for school groups to coincide with certain events, please contact our Marketing team by emailing marketing@theoldmarket.com to discuss group rates and wrap-around activity for our events.

Comments, Complaints and Feedback
For all comments, complaints and feedback, contact info@theoldmarket.com or 01273 201 801.

General Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse admission or re-entry to a performance. Latecomers may be asked to wait for a suitable break in the performance before entering. Tickets sold by TOMCT should not be sold on for profit or commercial gain by any unauthorised seller, and if caught doing so, your booking will be cancelled immediately. In the event of a performance cancellation, TOMCT will take reasonable measures to contact all affected audience members and will offer either exchange or refunds. TOMCT reserves the right to make changes to advertised line-ups, though reasonable efforts will be made to communicate changes in advance. We do not offer refunds in the event of changes to advertised line-ups as standard.

1630 TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1630 is open to anyone aged 16-30 years old.

By registering for the scheme, you promise that you are aged 16-30 and that any tickets discounted as part of 1630 are just for you and up to one other person in the same age group.

Please don’t sell your tickets on. We have to check the booking details against any ID brought in on the day, and the ticket purchaser must be one of the people visiting.

If you want to come as a group, you’ll need to get your friends to buy their own tickets.

1630 tickets are subject to availability and there are only a small number available per performance, so get in quick.

We’ll try to get a 1630 discount for as many of our TOM-tagged events as possible, but it’s not always possible, so do check our website and emails for up-to-date listings.

Sometimes we’ll need to take discounted tickets off sale without notice.

You’ll need to bring a form of ID with your age or date of birth on it for each person using a 1630 ticket. We accept the following as proof of ID: passport, driving licence or Pass approved card.

We do not offer any refunds on ticket purchases, so make sure you’re 100% free and able to go to the show you booked.

To find out which shows will have 1630 tickets on offer, we’d recommend opting in for our marketing emails when you first sign up. If you don’t opt in, you might miss out.

Your info is in safe hands. We operate following the 2018 General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR).

All other standard Terms and Conditions apply.
